When my wife and I sought mediation, I entered into it with the belief that we were going to get a divorce while believing that having a mediator for that process would help us navigate it in a much more civil way. Mostly for our child’s sake. I don’t want to speak for her, but I’m pretty sure that my wife felt the same way, there wasn’t a lot of hope that things could get worked out.
Once the conversations began, I was genuinely amazed at how quickly the conversation turned from talk of divorce to creative conversations about constructive things that could be put in place, even as a last ditch attempt to save the marriage.
I’m very happy to say that my wife and I are still married and are not planning to separate and I believe in my heart if not for the help that we received that would not be the case.

Thanks for doing such a great job mediating with me and my supervisor! You really listened and I felt valued in the process. You kept us on track and listened to things we both needed to say. I don’t think we would have made the progress we did without your help. My work situation has really improved and I don’t shy away from interactions with my supervisor now.
